This book provides a general introduction to the study of language and linguistics, intended for undergraduate students. It adheres to the revised syllabus of the IV Semester of BA English (Model 1, 2 &3) Programme offered by MG University. The book, divided into three modules/chapters as per the revised MG University syllabus, is clear and simple, each chapter being expository as well as explanatory with examples. Each chapter is furnished with questions, modelled on the MG University question pattern and two model question papers are provided at the end of the textbook.
